Jon Ossoff
The senior U.S. Senator from Georgia, in office since 2021, when he defeated Republican incumbent David Perdue in a runoff. A Democrat, he previously worked as a national security staffer for Representative Hank Johnson and as managing director of an investigative documentary production company. He is the youngest sitting U.S. senator and the first senator born in the 1980s.

Thomas Jonathan Ossoff (born February 16, 1987) is an American politician who has served as a U.S. Senator from Georgia since 2021. He is the youngest sitting member of the Senate and the first senator born in the 1980s.[1]
Born February 16, 1987 in Atlanta, Georgia. Age 39 as of 2026.[4]
Before entering elected office Ossoff worked as a national security staffer and legislative assistant for U.S. Representative Hank Johnson, and later as managing director of an investigative documentary production company. He first ran for Congress in a 2017 special election for a long-held Republican House seat and narrowly lost.[1]
Ossoff was elected to the Senate in a January 2021 runoff, defeating Republican incumbent David Perdue. He and Raphael Warnock won on the same day, giving Democrats a 50-50 Senate with the vice president casting tie-breaking votes.[1][2][3]
