Kevin Warsh

Kevin Maxwell Warsh (born April 13, 1970) is an American financier and attorney serving as the 17th chair of the Federal Reserve. He graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor's degree in public policy in 1992 and from Harvard Law School with a Juris Doctor in 1995.^[1]

Warsh worked at Morgan Stanley from 1995 to 2002, specializing in mergers and acquisitions. In 2002 President George W. Bush named him a special assistant to the president for economic policy and executive secretary of the National Economic Council. Bush nominated him to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in 2006, and he served there until 2011, acting as the board's central liaison to financial markets during the 2008 financial crisis.^[1][2]

After leaving the Fed, Warsh was a lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business until 2026. President Donald Trump named him as his nominee for Federal Reserve chair in January 2026 to succeed Jerome Powell, and the Senate confirmed him as a governor and as chair the following month.^[1][2][3]
