2026 MLB Postseason Schedule — Wild Card Sept. 29, World Series Game 1 Oct. 23

Major League Baseball announced its 2026 postseason schedule on August 10, 2026, setting the dates of each round and the broadcast partners and describing the schedule as subject to change. Matchups and game times were set later as the postseason progressed.^[4]

Wild Card Series (September 29 - October 1): Atlanta beat Philadelphia 2-1; the Chicago White Sox beat Houston 2-0; the New York Yankees beat Boston 2-0; San Diego beat the Chicago Cubs 2-0.^[1]

Division Series (October 3-10): the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Atlanta 3-1, Tampa Bay swept the New York Yankees 3-0 and Milwaukee beat San Diego 3-1. The Chicago White Sox won the first two games against Cleveland (3-0 on October 3 and 4-3 on October 5); Cleveland won Game 3, 9-3, on October 7, Game 4, 9-5, on October 8 and Game 5, 2-0, on Saturday, October 10, at Progressive Field. MLB.com's recap says "The Guardians won the series, 3-2, coming back to win the final three after losing the first two at home." Cleveland advances to the ALCS against Tampa Bay.^[1][5][7][8]

League Championship Series (under way): Milwaukee leads the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 in the NLCS after winning Game 1, 2-1, on Sunday, October 11 and Game 2, 7-4, on Monday, October 12, both at American Family Field; MLB.com's Game 2 recap says the Brewers won by "overturning three separate deficits for a 7-4 victory in Game 2." The ALCS is tied 1-1: Cleveland won Game 1, 7-3, on October 12 and Tampa Bay won Game 2, 3-1, on October 13, both at Tropicana Field. MLB.com's Game 2 recap says "The Rays landed their counterpunch Tuesday night in Game 2 and the ALCS is headed back to Cleveland as a best-of-five series."^{[1][9][10][11][12]}

The NLCS (Dodgers vs Brewers, Milwaukee leading 2-0) moves to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday, October 14, at 8 p.m. ET on FS1, Game 4 on October 15 at 9 p.m. ET and, if necessary, Game 5 on October 16 at 9 p.m. ET; Games 6 and 7, if necessary, return to Milwaukee on October 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. ET. The ALCS (Cleveland vs Tampa Bay, tied 1-1) moves to Cleveland, where Games 3 and 4 are on October 15 and 16 at 6 p.m. ET and Game 5 on October 17 at 8 p.m. ET; Games 6 and 7, if necessary, return to Tampa Bay on October 19 (5 p.m. ET) and October 20 (8 p.m. ET). The ALCS airs on TBS, truTV and HBO Max (UniMas in Spanish). MLB notes that ALCS Game 4 would move to 8 p.m. if the NLCS ends in a sweep, and ALCS Game 6 to 8 p.m. if there is no NLCS Game 7.^{[1][7][10][12]}

World Series Game 1 is scheduled for Friday, October 23. MLB lists Games 1, 2 and, if needed, 6 and 7 at the team with the better 2026 regular-season record, with off days on October 25 and, if a Game 6 is needed, October 29. A Game 7, if necessary, is scheduled for Saturday, October 31.^[1][4]

Twelve clubs reach the postseason, six from each league. In each league the two highest-seeded division winners receive first-round byes into the Division Series, and the other four teams play two best-of-three Wild Card Series. CBS Sports notes there are no tiebreaker games; ties are broken mathematically, with head-to-head record as the first tiebreaker.^[2][3]

The Wild Card round aired on NBC, Peacock and NBC Sports Network. FOX or FS1, with FOX Deportes, cover the National League Division Series and NLCS, while TBS, truTV and HBO Max carry the American League Division Series and ALCS. The World Series is on FOX, with FOX Deportes carrying the Spanish call.^[3][4]
